Kuching - Sarawak contingent athletes, especially those representing the badminton squad, have been urged to practice high discipline during the 19th Malaysia Games (Sukma XIX) Games in Perak.
This was stated by Sarawak Badminton Association President, YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain at the ceremony to hand over the state flag and sponsored the Sarawak squad at the recent Kuching SEDC Tower.
According to YBhg Tan Sri Abdul Aziz, Sarawak athlete athletes must be focused on the pressure and fierce competition at Sukma XIX Perak which will take place within 8 days. He also gave a speech to the athlete of Sarawak badminton athlete who will face a rivalry comprising those who are players of the national squad.
Although the badminton squad does not set a target for gold medal, Sarawak's players are expected to give a fierce competition in the group and individual competitions that will take place from September 9-21.
The Sarawak badminton squad is among those who will head off to Ipoh, Perak on September 7 and will compete in a group match which begins on September 9.

The call was made by Sarawak Badminton Association (SBA) President, YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain in his speech at the handing over of the state flag ceremony and sponsorship to the Sukma-bound Sarawak squad held at Menara SEDC in Jalan Bako.

According to YBhg Tan Sri Abdul Aziz, Sarawak athletes must stay focused while facing the pressure and fierce competition expected at Sukma XIX Perak which will take place in another 8 days. He also said Sarawak athletes should be intimidated by their competitiors who are also players from the national squad.

Although the association had set a modest target for the medals to be won, Sarawak's players are told to give give strong challenge to the other contenders during the group and individual events that will take place from September 9 to 21.

Sarawak badminton squad will be among those who will heading off to Ipoh, Perak as early as September 7 and will compete in a group match which begins on September 9.
