The Sarawak boxing athlete who will play at the 19th Malaysia Games (Sukma XIX) in Perak will have the gold medal in the boxing event which will be held at Dewan Datuk Loppe Hashim, Bagan Dato on the 15th to 20th SEPTEMBER.
"In terms of preparation, boxers will undergo training at PCT 1 Div from 2 to 30 August and will be leaving for Perak on Sept 12," he said. Sarawak's boxing team consists of Syafiq Hazziman Abdullah Jefri (49kg), Wilson Berayin Donate (49.1 (56.1kg-60kg), Deanen Ului (60.1kg-64kg), Christyuden Ripoh (64.1kg-69kg), Mohammad Nawab Abdul Kader (69.1kg-75kg), Daeloniel Mcdelon Bong ), Qairul Naim Jasman (75.1kg-81kg) and Mohd Zainuddin Zailani (81.1kg-91kg). Meanwhile, Muhammad Safiuddin Mohammad Ali (49.1kg-52kg) as a boxer.
According to President of Sarawak Boxing Association (SABA), Datuk Abdul Rahman Lariwoo, in preparation for the squad squad, the state has undergone training at the Boxing Center at Muara Tuang Campus Division Headquarters on 2nd and 30th August and they will be leaving for early Perak on 12 September ahead despite the game starting three days later.
At Sukma 2018, the Sarawak boxing squad is determined to bring back at least two gold medals despite facing a fierce rivalry from other state contingents such as Perak, Sabah, Penang, Federal Territory and Sukma defending champion Selangor.
Assistant Chef-de-Mission (ACDM) for boxing squad is YB Gerald Rentap Jabu who is also a member of Layar Negeri state assemblyman while the team manager is Augustine Chin Lee Hin. Boxing squad coaches are Muhd Helman Bin Morni and Wilbur Buag-ay Andogan.
